The REALTORS® Code of Ethics spells out the professional responsibilities and expectations of all REALTOR® members to their clients, customers, fellow REALTORS® and the general public. REALTOR® Associations are responsible to enforce the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. The Robertson County Association of Realtors® enforcement is administered by the Tennessee REALTORS®. The Tennessee REALTORS® will oversee the Grievance, Arbitration and Professional Standards Processes which includes ethics and arbitration complaints, mediation and ombuds services. You can file a complaint online.
Not all real estate licensees are Realtors® so they are not under the same requirement to abide by the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. So make sure you ask the question "Are you a Realtor®?" If they answer YES, then you have the reassurance that this professional abides by a strict Code of Ethics. Click here to read the Code of Ethics. Do you have an ethics or legal question? If so, you can access the Tennessee REALTORS® Legal & Ethics Hotline. To access the hotline or to find out more infomation click here!
Before you start the process on filing a complaint, please read the Before You File A Complaint document, which helps to explain the process.
